KILLINGTON SEARCH & RESCUE

The Killington Search and Rescue (KSAR) team is an all-volunteer, specialized unit dedicated to locating, stabilizing, and transporting lost or injured individuals in Vermont's backcountry and recreational areas.

Operating under the Killington Police Department, they provide 24/7, all-weather support, utilizing expert local knowledge and specialized training.

Mission Statement
"To locate, stabilize and transport patients to a higher level of care."

    - Formed over a decade ago, KSAR serves the backcountry and recreational community, responding to incidents involving hikers, skiers, hunters, and others in distress.

    - The team is funded by the Town of Killington budget. Generous donations from locals and local businesses provide additional financial support to the KSAR Foundation. The KSAR Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that funds critical gear and training to support these volunteer efforts.
